WHO AM I? NO REALLY ...

A man of many names for starters:

Elvis: My given name (yes my parents were Elvis fans). Most commonly used in formal settings. My older sister calls me by this name.

Elvo: Pronounced like "elmo" with a "v". A concatenation of the name Elvis. Most people I meet in informal settings + half of my college buddies know me by this name. Very common in Kenyan culture e.g. James = Jamo, Steve = Stevo, etc

Mwenda: My middle name. Very much unlike in the US, people in Kenya go by their middle names and all through my early years everyone referred to me by Mwenda. Now only my dad and little sister call me Mwenda. My older sister now calls me Elvis, ...

Kibiti: I usually hear this name when I am standing in line waiting for some sort of service or when a lovely telemarketer friend calls. Only other time is on the basketball court when either PJ or Martinez are talking smack about me.
